Belarussian Orphanage Project

Love . Dignity . Integrity . Respect

Facebook…..

The facebook site is dedicated to promoting information and news on fundraisers, educational and P.R. events and the

gathering of humanitarian aid by a team of volunteers who work 'on the ground' in Ireland as well as being a forum to inform all BOP members and their friends of what's happening in both Ireland and in Novinki, Draznia, Viacha, Ivanyets, Semashko and Belarus in general concerning the welfare of all those in our care.

Forthcoming events (through the calendar), recent reports and photographs are posted there for all those who are interested in the continuous care of the children and adults in our orphanages and institutions in Belarus and is our way of keeping everyone informed of the changes and developments that happen on a regular basis in the Belarussian Orphanage Project.

Partners in Care is a registered charity whose primary aim is to work with differently abled Children in the village of Weliveriya, a village 35kms from the capital Colombo and with Children and Adults in a number of projects in the Southern coastal city of Galle in Sri Lanka.
We aim to meet the needs of the children in Christ King College, (a Multi-denominational school set up with major assistance from Partners in Care) for 1100 Children, including Educational, Developmental or Construction projects and also at a special day centre for children with neurodevelopmental disorders also in Weliveriya.
Partners in Care is a completely voluntary organisation and was set up by a team of experienced Humanitarian Workers who have worked for more than 16 years with institutionalised Children and Adults with psychoneurological disorders in Belarus. ( Belarussian Orphanage Project)
Post Tsunami, a team worked in different regions of Sri Lanka to identify the immediate needs of the most vulnerable of Children and Adults, those with psychoneurological disorders (Differently- abled) and in partnership with the directors of the institutions, set up projects which are completed on an ongoing basis.
The Weliveriya projects were set up with Fr. Eric Madurawala catering to the needs of differently abled children, children of widowed and deserted mothers and Tsunami Orphans.
In 2012 Partners in Care will launch 8 and 14 day trips to Sri Lanka for Volunteers who will work in both in Christ King College in Weliveriya and at the Sambodhi home in Galle.

At Christ King College, Volunteers will assist teachers in teaching English and also organise educational games and excursions for the children.

In Sambodhi Home, Volunteers will assist in the Art Therapy Programme and also in the excursion programme with the residents.

In March 2012, Partners in Care will commence work at a home for 44 special needs children in Weliveriya and volunteers will work in different of the education of the children including music, drama and art therapy.

Presently places on trips to Sri Lanka are open to volunteers who have already completed a trip to Belarus with Belarussian Orphanage Project. We are presently accepting applications from nonBOP volunteers for projects commencing in 2012.
